About
Avaran.
Bahamian roots reggae artist. 25+ years on stages from Miami to Kingston to the concert halls of Europe. One mission: THE MUSIC.

THE ARTIST
A Bahamian Voice
with a Global Vision
Born in The Bahamas and surrounded by Caribbean culture from an early age, Avaran has spent over 25 years building a reggae career rooted in faith, storytelling, and an unshakeable commitment to the music. His path took him from the sound systems of South Florida to concert stages across Europe and back again, with more fire than ever.

His first major exposure to the industry came through the sound system scene, where he recorded dubplates and developed a distinctive vocal style shaped by spirituality, social consciousness, and the emotional depth of classic Jamaican reggae. Airplay quickly spread beyond The Bahamas into South Florida and throughout the Caribbean.

His 1997 stage debut was no small moment. Avaran opened for the legendary Lucky Dube one of reggae's most iconic voices and that same year shared stages with Luciano, Sizzla, and Mikey General at the iconic Cameo Theatre in Miami Beach. The following year brought performances with Capleton, Anthony B, and Yami Bolo, plus a trip to Kingston, Jamaica to perform at Heineken StarTime where he completed his debut album, Short Rope.

In 2000, a showcase at the prestigious Midem Music Conference in Cannes, France sharing a stage with Beres Hammond, Half Pint, and Doug E. Fresh secured him an international distribution deal and opened the door to touring with Reggae Grammy winner Michael Rose of Black Uhuru. He went on to perform across France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

In recent years, Avaran has returned to recording with renewed purpose and full creative independence producing his own work and creating music that reflects decades of life, faith, and perseverance. His one-drop roots single "Who Shall Jah Send" earned rotation on Jamaica's #1 station, Irie FM. His lovers rock single "Love Cry" soulful, honest, and timeless marks the beginning of a new chapter. A full-length album with Jamaican musicians and family collaborators is now in production.

For Avaran, reggae has never been simply music it is a mission, a message, and a lifelong commitment.
"From Bamini to Jamaica to the stages of Europe — reggae has never been simply music for me. It is a mission, a message, and a lifelong commitment."
